Creating stunning animations is both an art and a science, requiring a well-structured workflow to ensure that every project meets the highest standards of quality and creativity.

At We Are Alive Studio, we’ve honed our process over the years, perfecting each step to deliver world-class projects on time and within budget. Our client-focused workflow is designed to keep you in control at every stage, ensuring there are no surprises and that your vision is brought to life just as you imagined.

From the initial brief to the final touches, our team collaborates closely with you, turning ideas into captivating animations.

Client's Brief

It all starts with the brief!

We want as much info as possible to understand your needs and strategy. This helps us get in your shoes and come up with the best approach.

Stage 02: Exploration

In the exploration stage, our creative team digs into your brief, brand guidelines, strategy and operations.

We sketch, look for references, test concepts, and build a mood board that shows our ideas. Sometimes we come up with a few different concepts, sometimes just one.

Stage 03: Scripting

A good script is key to a great story!

Our writers make sure the script hits all the important points outlined in the strategy and correctly answers the brief.

We’ll give you a document with the voice-over script and detailed descriptions of each scene.

Stage 04: Storyboarding and Illustration

With the script approved, our artists start designing and illustrating each scene.

This might include character development, planning visual effects, or creating 3D assets.

In the end, we’ll give you a polished storyboard that looks just like the final animation, except it’s not moving. Well, not just yet.

Stage 05: Animatic Production

An animatic is a rough animation created using storyboard images and placeholder voice-over.

It helps us visualise the final video, check the timing, test the music, and fine-tune everything before the actual animation process starts.

Stage 06: Animation

Now, this is where the fun begins!

Once we get to the animation stage, it means all the previous steps are finalised and approved, and we can start getting our hands dirty.

Our animators will bring the illustrations to life, making sure everything moves perfectly and clearly tells the story. Throughout the process, we’ll share work-in-progress versions to make sure you’re satisfied before we wrap everything up.

Stage 07: Voice Over Recording

Voice-over recording sets the tone and tempo for the story.

We work with top-notch voice talent from around the world and use the best recording equipment. We’ll give you a few options to choose from, and once we replace the placeholder voice, the video is almost ready.

Stage 08: Finishing

In the final stage, we handle video editing, colour grading, sound effects, music editing, and for 3D projects, rendering and compositing as well.

Once everything is completed, we’ll export the video in your preferred formats and share it securely in a prearranged way.

All project files are safely stored and backed up, ensuring you can revisit them for updates or new versions whenever necessary.
